In addition to a broad portfolio of medicines for the treatment of chronic kidney disease, we are developing digital therapeutic guides that accompany patients from pre-dialysis through dialysis to kidney transplantation. The aim of these digital applications is to support life-changing events in the course of the disease in patients with kidney disease and to contribute to optimising their quality of life. Various medical and psychosocial topics can be addressed, including open questions related to the disease itself, medication management, nutritional counselling and mental health. By providing specialised digital interventions, individual needs are addressed at an early stage, continuously monitored and specifically supported in order to promote a holistic improvement in medical care, therapy adherence and subjective well-being.

In everyday therapy, there is often little time for holistic patient care. The free app offers patients a simple and clear way to manage their medication. The application allows users to enter and manage medication schedules, provides intuitive reminders for when to take medication, and offers other helpful documentation features. This helps patients to reliably organise their medication intake in everyday life and monitor their individual treatment progress.

Successful nutritional management contributes significantly to the success of therapy for chronic kidney disease. MEDICE is currently working with experts and research institutions on nutritional concepts that will complement pharmacological and digital health solutions in the future.
For people with kidney disease, an adapted diet is essential to relieve the kidneys, regulate fluid balance and maintain the balance of minerals such as potassium, phosphate and sodium.
Balance is a particular challenge: too much or too little of certain nutrients can put additional strain on the kidneys. In addition, the individual needs of patients vary greatly, requiring close cooperation with doctors, nurses and nutritionists. For those affected, this often means a lifelong change in their eating habits, which can be emotionally and physically stressful.
